Abstract :

This article explores briefly the implications of how information, knowledge, and networked computing change the way we live, work, and play. It argues that human-computer interaction (HCI) and user-centered design (UCD) principles are critical to ensuring that both developed and developing countries are able to meet the challenges posed by these changes and harness the opportunities of globalization and the emergence of an information society.
